The Minister of Economy and the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications have discussed plans for constructing an intermodal terminal in Bozhurishte

The Executive Director of National Company Industrial Zones EAD Antoaneta Bares, the Minister of Economy Emil Karanikolov and the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovsky discussed plans for constructing an intermodal terminal in Sofia-Bozhurishte Economic Zone. The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Bozhurishte George Dimov and Hristo Aleksiev, Deputy General Director of National Railway Infrastructure Company (NRIC).

The concept of an intermodal terminal in Bozhurishte is one of the ideas that are being discussed in order to improve the infrastructure connectivity and access to the industrial zone. The growing number of investors creates the need to build new transport links and approaches that adequately service its large territories. The zone attracts serious interest and in order to meet the investors’ expectations, the Ministry of Economy which is the principal of "National Company Industrial Zones" has initiated talks with several institutions, including the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. The Municipality of Bozhurishte and the National Railway Infrastructure Company, which are directly concerned, have also been involved in this discussion.

Another opportunity discussed during the meeting was that of building a railway station within the industrial zone in Bozhurishte, which will be part of the rail link between Sofia and Bankya. According to Mrs. Bares, Executive Director of "National Company Industrial Zones", these are key projects for attracting investments in Sofia-Bozhurishte Economic Zone. The construction of public transport links will also make the zone more accessible for the employees. Almost 1100 jobs are provided by investors in Bozhurishte. Most of them are for highly qualified technical specialists.
