Opportunities for partnership with IKEA were discussed during a conference with state institutions and business representatives
The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency, in partnership with the Bulgarian Branch Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry and IKEA organized a conference “New Prospects for the export of furniture, equipment and interiors”. The event succeeds the working visit of the Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky in Sweden, where opportunities for constructing a logistics centre and a production base by IKEA in Bulgaria were discussed.
Today’s forum was opened by a welcome address by Lyuben Petrov – Deputy Minister of Economy, Dr. Georgi Kostov – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food and Marieta Zaharieva – Executive Director of BSMEPA. They expressed their confidence that IKEA, as well the entire furniture industry can rely on the state institutions because they represent a stable business partner through the incentives being offered and the effective dialogue between them. During the event, the Swedish company announced its intentions to increase the deliveries from Bulgaria and to establish new partnerships.
Among the participants in the conference were Nikolay Tsenkov – Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Company Industrial Zones, Stamen Yanev – Executive Director of the Invest Bulgaria Agency, Elitsa Nencheva – Executive Director of the Bulgarian Branch Chamber of Woodworking and Furniture Industry, representatives of IKEA and various companies from the industry.
