NCIZ and Haskovo Region negotiate new joint Industrial Park Project

The Executive Director of National Company Industrial Zones EAD Ms. Antoaneta Bares, PhD, visited the town of Haskovo as a continuation of the company's initiative to maintain partnership with representatives of local authorities, in order to jointly develop industrial zones and parks in the country.

Ms. Barres met the Regional Governor of Haskovo, Eng. Mr. Minko Angelov, and Mr. Martin Uzunov, Deputy Regional Governor, and discussed the opportunities for joint partnership and cooperation. The invitation was on the occasion of an identified plot by the NCIZ, appropriate to be developed into an industrial park.

The site visit was made to the former military airport Uzundzhovo - extremely well located and transport connected - close to the Bulgarian-Turkish and Bulgarian-Greek borders, only 5 km away from the Maritsa highway and close to the sea ports of Burgas and Alexandroupolis.

Two key transcontinental corridors pass through the territory of the district, the first one connecting Western and Central Europe to Istanbul and Asia and the second - Northern Europe to the Mediterranean - such characteristics are prerequisites for transformation of the terrain into a promising industrial park. Along with this, the existence of a concrete runway for take-off and landing and taxiways on the terrain, make it possible the construction of a cargo airport there in the future.
