The "National Company Industrial Zones” EAD( NCIZ) has officially presented today its project for creation of a Regional Centre for Digital Solutions and Innovations, which will be on the territory of the Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Park. The event took place in partnership with the Chemical Technological and Metallurgical University (CHTMU) and brought together representatives of state institutions, academia, the industrial sector and the media.

"The Regional Centre for Digital Solutions and Innovation is part of our long-term strategy to modernise the industrial environment in Bulgaria. It will be a place where business, science and technology meet to create real solutions and sustainable growth. We are proud that our company is driving this transformation," said the Executive Director of NCIZ Mr. Angel Tanev.

With an investment of over BGN 6 million, funded under the “Research, Innovation and Digitalization for Smart Transformation” Programme, NCIZ will build a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure to support:

  • Current and future investors in the park;
  • entrepreneurs, innovators, researchers;
  • research organisations;
  • local and regional administrations.

The project will be implemented within 36 months and aims to:

  • support the digital transformation of the business;

  • facilitate the introduction of innovations into real work processes.

The centre will include a virtual reality lab that will allow 3D visualisations of buildings, machines and products - testing before investing - through the so-called “digital twins”.

The Sofia-Bozhurishte Industrial Park is a priority project of the NCIZ with an area of more than 3 million sq. m., where 42 investors from sectors such as automotive, high-tech, logistics and manufacturing already operate.

The Park has fully-developed engineering infrastructure - power, water and gas supply, sewage and fiber optic network.
