NCIZ presented the available opportunities for investments to Hyundai Bulgaria and Samsung Electronics

The Bulgarian delegation, led by the Vice minister of Economy Lachezar Borisov, visited South Korea and presented to some leading companies the available opportunities for investments in Bulgaria.

The executive director of National Company Industrial Zones PLC Antoaneta Bares presented to the Korean industrial firms at those meetings the work of the company and also the available opportunities for investments in the industrial zones, that are under the control of NCIZ.

Bares emphasized that NCIZ is managing 10 projects – operative areas in Sofia, Burgas, Ruse, Svilengrad, Vidin and Varna, as well as projects that are still in process- in Kardzhali, Karlovo, Telish and Varna. If there is a certain interest by investors, NCIZ could offer plots which could be transformed and used for industrial purposes.

‘’We recognize Republic of South Korea as a priority economic partner in Asia and we are working towards the support of the bilingual cooperation and for strengthening the economic relations between the two countries’’, claimed the Vice minister Lachezar Borisov during the meeting with Kang Sung Chung, Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy of Republic of Korea, that took place in Seoul.

The Vice Minister Borisov emphasized that a top priority for Bulgaria is to attract Korean investors in some of the sectors such as those of electronics and electrotechnics, car industry, information and communication technology. At the meeting with Hyundai Motor Group, the Bulgarian delegation got familiar with the available opportunity for taking part in creating a R&D center in Bulgaria in the sector of car electronics, car software and electric mobility.

The schedule of the visit of the Bulgarian delegation consisted of a couple of meetings at a higher level with some leading companies, working in the sector of information and communication technology. The business climate in Bulgaria and the opportunities for investments were discussed also during the meeting with Mr Hyung Woo, a Vice President of Samsung Electronics and with Huang Mung Ku, the executive director of AMOTEX.

The Vice Minister Borisov clarified that the Bulgarian Government will support the companies if they decide to invest in Bulgaria.

At the time of the two-day long visit the Bulgarian delegation met different representatives of the Korean-Bulgarian committee for economic cooperation and the Korean Association of Import partners. The Bulgarian Consul in Seoul visited leading Korean companies which work in the sector of electrotechnics, machinery construction, car materials and IT.
