Delegation to China, headed by the President of Bulgaria

National Company Industrial Zones’ executive director, Mr. Atanas Nenov, took part in a delegation to China between January 11th- 15th 2014. The delegation was headed by the president, H.E. Mr. Rossen Plevneliev, and included numerous high-rank officials from the presidency, the Ministry of Economy and Energy, the Invest Bulgaria Agency, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as well as representatives of over 30 Bulgarian companies. The visit was organized at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, president and general secretary of the communist party of China, with the purpose of promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries in terms of trade and investment. It is worth noting that 2014 marks the 65th anniversary of the establishing of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria.
On January 14th in the city of Beijing was held an investment forum where the investment climate and the prospects of doing business in Bulgaria were presented. Several memoranda of cooperation and investments were signed between Bulgarian and Chinese companies. While in Beijing, the Bulgarian delegation visited Zhongguancun Science Park, located in the northwestern part of the city. Zhongguancun is among the most famous high-tech zones in the country and is known as the Chinese Silicon Valley. There the delegation and NCIZ in particular became acquainted with good practices in running a successful high-tech zone and was able draw on its experience.
On the next day in the city of Shanghai was held a Bulgaria – China business forum with b2b meetings with representatives of multiple Chinese companies. NCIZ took advantage of this opportunity to inform all interested parties of its projects and to outline the advantages of choosing to invest in industrial and economic zones in Bulgaria, including the personal assistance the company offers throughout the implementation of any investment project along with the incentives under the Investment Promotion Act.
This latest visit to the People’s Republic of China accentuated the strong potential for strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries. To this end, Bulgaria and China set themselves the task of doubling their trade volume in the next five years.
