Changing the free zone status of some of the terrains in Rousse Free Zone
The Council of Ministers gave an order for changing the borders of Rousse Free Zone. The free zone status of part of the area will be kept - that is a territory with a surface covering 141,7 decares of land. What regards the other pieces of land, their status will be removed. This decision will not affect the total surface of land which belongs to the zone. The terrains in this zone whose status will be removed will remain under the control of the zone as those plots of land will be managed by Rousse Free Zone as it was until now.
The key location and well-developed infrastructure of Rousse Free Zone JSC is what it makes it attractive for future investments. After a couple of months four foreign companies made inquiries through the Bulgarian agency for investments and the Ministry of Economy regarding the investments in industrial terrains in Rousse and the near areas. The aim is to build new functioning factories. The executive director of Rousse Fee Zone is familiar with those inquiries and has offered particular terrains that will satisfy the requirements of the potential investors.
The negotiations with the potential investors were conducted by the association. The Free Zone in Rousse will be responsible for meeting the criteria that was set by investors and for the sale of any future terrains. The Free Zone in Rousse is a self-managed association which will only co-work with certified investors according to the Investment Promotion Act, that means it is able to sale terrains, but only after that companies have made a commitment to the state that they will implement investment projects with particular number of investments and newly created work positions. That is the way in which all of the industrial zones run by NCIZ operate. The purpose of the business deals and what is for sale as a property in the industrial zone is a task that should be fulfilled by Rousse Fee Zone, because they have that authority to do so.
The governing body of NCIZ is assured that Rousse Free Zone has unrealized potential and thinks that the decision by the Government that was taken on 28 February will help the development of Rousse Free Zone Association and will stimulate the industrial and the economic progress in Rouse and the region.
