A terrain of 190 decares of land was provided for the industrial zone in Kyustendil
Municipality of Kyustendil provided a terrain covering 190 decares of land for the development of an industrial zone in the province. The estate is located 200 km far away from the road to Macedonia and less than 1 km away from the road of the Pan-European Corridor VIII. On 12th January Municipality of Kyustendil and National Company Industrial Zones PLC signed a memorandum for cooperation and launching the already planned project.
Kyustendil has the necessary potential for building an industrial park, pointed out the executive director of NCIZ Antoaneta Bares. She said that the present task is to find an investor for the zone. ‘’A concept for development of a particular industrial zone could be successfully put in practice only if there is certain interest by investors’’, said in addition Mrs Bares.
National Company Industrial zones started gathering all of the information needed for those terrains – that includes data about the possibilities for supplying electricity, gas, water and some other conditions important to the investors.
Regarding the zone in Kyustendil, Antoaneta Bares explained that in that part of the country there are no developed industrial zones and terrains, for example in Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Burgas and Varna. A great number of the existing factories and industries are located in the other parts of the country. ‘’ There are good conditions for building industrial zones in this region due to its proximity to the transport corridor. Th research that has been made will show what kind of production might be suitable there, because that really matters’’, commented the executive director of NCIZ.
The Major of Kyustendil Petar Paunov hopes that a solid investment in relation to the future industrial zone will be made. He expressed his gratitude to the team of NCIZ for their partnership, efforts and politeness and pointed out some of the features of the terrain – such as the good exposure and excellent possibilities for supplying water, power and gas on that territory.
‘’The region could be reborn again, if we find a potential investor. We could launch a project with huge impact that will create a hundred of work positions. At this moment Bulgaria and East Europe are fighting against the negative migration processes, that is our main priority right now’’, said Paunov.
The purpose of the signed memorandum is to provide suitable conditions for development of intensive communication between the municipality and NCIZ and to maintain the exchange of experience and good practices. We will work towards the support of the development of economy and the investment flow from foreign companies in Bulgaria.
This project embodies only one of the successful partnerships between NCIZ and the local authorities in Bulgaria. The company seeks to develop more infrastructure projects in Kyustendil as well as in other cities in the country, where there is such a potential for that kind of industrial activities and if the municipalities are ready to cooperate.
